FrostByte Update

Progress with the engine lately has sparked the need for the first in a series of regular "development videos" that will showcase new or innovative features that are being worked on. This video showcases the visual effects involving world-space lighting and dynamic liquid/water rendering. Please view, comment, and discuss!

Development Update

A lot of progress has been made on the engine since the last update, and the website has also been running smooth. Anybody who was experiencing CAPTCHA sign-up issues will be happy to hear that they are resolved, and the sign-up form is fixed.

FrostByte News

The FrostByte engine’s core features are shaping up nicely, and a few new features have been implemented. Most of the physics and player handling systems have been completely cleaned up and almost all physics related bugs have been taken care of. Also, there is a menu system in progress and a completely re-designed map loading routine being developed.

On top of that, I am advancing my map creation skills and a new version of the beta map is complete.


Modular Softworks  Video Intro

The menu system that is in development has sparked the creation of a title intro video that plays on the initialization of the engine. After many hours (and failed attempts) in Adobe After Effects, here is the result:



The video is subject to change, but probably not until the polishing stage. Please give feedback and any comments you have.

Development is continuing steadily and another test build will be released (for the testers) soon, so check the website!
